GRATITUDE

TINASHE is one of my favourite female artists in the music industry right now, I find her calming and pacific sound mesmerising to listen to. Her album 'Aquarius' recently took off, in which I still have on repeat now! And of course myself being an Aquarius, I love the astrology and zodiac theme in which she has cleverly styled into her music. 

She has also recently released a 7 song mix tape called 'Amethyst' in which she recorded in her bedroom over the Christmas vacation purely as appreciation for her fans as a gift in thanking the fans for their love and support. 

At a first impression my two favourite songs are: 1)Dreams are real and 5) Wanderer. 

CONQUEST

J. Cole

J. Cole is one of my favourite rappers right now, if you don't know him, then get to know!

Jermaine Lamarr Cole, but stage name J. Cole - born January 28th, he's now 30 years of age.
Cole is currently signed to Jay Z's record label Roc Nation. 

Personally I'm a huge fan of Cole because of the way he portrays the truths and realities of the world, through his rap's he enables you to feel his pains and experience through his extreme reflective lyrics, allowing you to relate.

Forest Hills Drive from my perception is a tale of a young boy, the journey of his life and search to find his purpose in life. The album provides elements of reflection, progress and triumph specifically elements of Cole's tale.

UK Grime

Uk Grime recently has shot up greatly this year, artists like Stormzy, Ghetts, Chip, Scorcher, Giggs, Krept and Konan, BBK, Sneakbo and many more are flown high this year and I really believe that their talent will vastly continue into the year of 2015!

APPREHENSION

SZA

Solana Rowe- known as SZA has deeply inspired me through her career so far, as I've said she's signed to the indie label TDE and creates alternative R&B music; something in which intrigues and captivates my mind greatly. 

Before SZA was signed to TDE she was a normal girl born in the USA attempting to find her purpose in life. As her father was Muslim and mother Christian similar to my own parents, additionally she was an orthodox Muslim although after being bullied: something in which I believe is  barbaric and unneeded behaviour, this unfortunately caused her to stop wearing her hijab. I feel that no person should suffer discrimination irrespective of race, culture, gender, age, sexuality or background. Acceptance of yourself and others is key in life. 

In terms of music I am huge fan of her's: so far she has released two of her own self-released EP's see.SZA.run and S. She was then signed in April 2013 to TDE and then April the following year she released her first EP as a TDE artists named 'Z' - her most recent.

STIMULUS

TDE is one of the most unique and eccentric independent record labels around in which I feel challenges the conventions of the Music industry greatly. TDE was founded by Anthony Tiffith of whom I seek huge inspiration from, he used music as a way of escaping and prospering from the gang and violent crimes in which surrounded him in the environment that he was apart of. The way music created opportunities for him and has now resulted in the label TDE enables him to also create opportunity for other aspiring artists out there.

So far the signed artists to TDE are; Black Hippy consisting of- Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab soul, Schoolboy Q then recently SZA and Isaiah Rashad. Tiffith has created enormous amount of success for these artists and that I believe is a special gift in itself.

BASIS

As you can see this is my first blog post, first and foremost this blog is going to be strictly Music associated. I'm planning on filling this blog with my own opinions, favourites, inspirations and own interpretations on music. 

I'm a half Palestinian, Aquarian singer of whom beholds a strong passion for the industry that is music. My preference in music is r&b, soul, hip-hop and house/garage music although I am always open to listening to the sounds of other genre types. The people of who particularly inspire me in the music industry are the likes of: Sam Smith, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Lauryn hill, J Cole, Tinashe, Hannah Wants and a few others.
